What makes a ranch capable of producing quality beef? Well, it’s a combination of quality forage, clean water, and healthy breeding stock. Our mother cows are primarily Red Angus and Hereford, a great cattle breed for this part of the state.
All our cattle are free to roam and graze on good pastures. They are never given growth hormone implants, and we work closely with our veterinarian to provide the best of care. Additionally, coordinating with our local supplier, a nutritionist designs a special blend of loose mineral that our cows then have free access to. Quality feed is provided during the winter months to sustain our healthy, pregnant mother cows. Caring for these cattle is a lifestyle, one we both enjoy take seriously. Our herd bulls are also the highest quality stock. Red Angus bulls from both Kravig Red Angus and the Pharo Cattle Company were acquired in the last few years, and in the spring of 2017, we purchased two registered Black Limousine bulls from Running Creek Ranch from Elizabeth, CO. Crossing these high-quality bulls with our healthy mother cows produces strong, healthy calves.
